“I am finishing it up - Elizabeth has just been pronounced "gone" and this news brought me to tears - I had hoped as did the Guernsey literacy society. Maybe it was the personal aspect of the letters that supported this feeling - in any event - I love the book. The last time I read a book in this format, Joanna's husband and David's wife - the stor of 2 people who onced loved each other, but did not understand each other. Fabulous.”

“I loved this book too! Wasn't it Shaffer's niece who finished the book? I read something about how she said she'd grown up hearing her aunt's stories and it was her tribute to her after her aunt got sick.”

“One of the books on my profile also. I enjoyed the aspect of a book written in letter format, which at least some people i talked to could not get into. It's one of the books which was chosen by my book club. We meet monthly at each other's homes to discuss books which we have collectively chosen.”
