“Thanks for the recommendation, but my disappointment goes beyond the movie's mediocre efforts at staying true to the novel. “You know, I don't even remember a love scene... It's funny how we connect with certain aspects more than others. At the heart of it, what I love best about WATCHMEN is the Tale of the Black Freighter, Eddie's politics and the "redemption" of Sally Jupiter. I've fairly ignored the romance with Night Owl and whoever that chick was. How odd.
Still though, those 3 parts may have permanently altered my worldview, which is, of course, what the best of books do.
Shall we agree then, the movie is rubbish by comparison?”

“Check out the extended director's cut version of the film. It's still not the book, but I understand it does it a fair bit better than the theater version. It's the only cut of the film I bothered to watch, cuz, really, how are they gonna even come close to packing that much stuff into even a 2+ hour movie? :)”
