“Interesting comment on this novel. I wrote a thesis on it for my MA in English wherer I argued that this is a meta-heterogenous novel (a la bakhtin) due to both the ingenious use of 2nd person to involve the reader into the action of the plot, as well as, the diverse novelistic styles and countries that make up the "novels" within. You are very smart to read this, enjoy it and post your comments about it. It is indeeed very special.
Which other calvino do you really really love?”

“You are about to start reading a comment from a stranger on Alikewise - sillymonkey, what a stupid name. It says he's 33 from Glasgow. That's an ocean away. Now, look over at the picture. Red nose, shaggy hair, a strange, far too serious look . Or is it ironic? His comment is rambling, but what can you do? It's free to ramble on Alikewise. Maybe he'll stop soon and leave you in peace. And he's done it, now.”

“Hello! I'm Natasha. I'm new here.
Tell me, please, really "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler" ...novel of novels?
I read a little of the modern Italians (Andrea De Carlo"Uto",T.Landolfi "Autunno storia" and G.Culicchia "Tutti giu per terra"). Of these 3 only Tommaso surprised. Now I plan to read Calvino. This is the classic, of course. But there is not a lot of good translations into Russian from Italian.
By the way, I'm from Russia. The server does not missed a code of Moscow and I had cheated it. Here's a precedent! But all from the love of art! (Smile) Believe me.
Ciao!”
