“You are so right. The Bible has influenced us so much and yet in many ways, it is so common to have it around, that we often take it's power for granted. What a great review. Thank you for posting your thoughts.”

“I am glad somebody else noticed there were not more options! Might I ask what you do think about it? Just because I do not want to assume as you said of course.”

“You'll love it. It's actually very P.K. Dick. (who, btw., had a conversion experience a few years before he died.) Find a good translation though; it matters. Don't read the King James--a pointless Renaissance Faire detour through a bronze age Middle Eastern text. I suggest the New Living (most readable) or the New American Standard, which is the closest to a literal translation of the original text. The first time around, it's okay to skim the parts that seem boring, like the genealogies, or wacky, like Leviticus (later, in a PKD fashion, you will come to see the hidden meanings of these texts, but for now, just read the 'good' parts.) It's really quite a fascinating book--honestly.”
