“I love how another author and amazing friend picked this book up to finish it on her friends behalf. It is amazing how one piece of paper can inspire an entire story.”

“I believe you are right, it was the author's niece. Agree it is a wonderful book and tribute. I lived in Britain for a few years, I am disappointed I never made it to Guernsey, especially after reading this book. Ah well, it is an excuse to go back now!”

“I loved this book too! Wasn't it Shaffer's niece who finished the book? I read something about how she said she'd grown up hearing her aunt's stories and it was her tribute to her after her aunt got sick.”

“YES! Were you there for work? I spent a semester in London in university (and traveled in the UK as well) and dreamed of going back for years - finally made it there for about a week last year. When I came home, this book fed right into my love affair with the city and the country. Of course, I'd love to see the Guernsey in the book, which is probably quite changed by now! But still, it'd be worth it. (It's still my dream to find a way to live over there for a while, though I have no work visa status, sigh!) I was so admiring - and envious! - of Juliet in this book.”
