“Sometimes you have to start a book and then come back to it. "Zen" is like that. It's not about Zen or Motorcycle Maintenance, but about a Father and Son's trip across the top of the Western United States while the author searches for the meaning of excellence.
Good book.Sometimes too deep to touch bottom, sometimes too close too home, as Pirsig's split personality becomes more erratic, and his son's troubles more severe. A classic read.
One of these summers, I'm re-tracing the route on my motorcycle as I re-read the book, similar to "Zen and Now."”
