“...and don't overlook "The Cloven Viscount.." darkly twisted in the most delightful way.”

“Well Natasha
I agree that Calvino is not for everyone and this book is very "experimental" in that it is squarley in the Metafiction vein... However, i have not read the other italians you mention. Of Calvino I can say that the year Marquez won the Nobel, Calvino was also nominated. I believe that this novel attempts to create a superr structure of reading and the novel, and to include the reader as a character, though it is a decidedly male "reader" character as you will see. I hope you enjoy it.”

“Hello! I'm Natasha. I'm new here.
Tell me, please, really "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler" ...novel of novels?
I read a little of the modern Italians (Andrea De Carlo"Uto",T.Landolfi "Autunno storia" and G.Culicchia "Tutti giu per terra"). Of these 3 only Tommaso surprised. Now I plan to read Calvino. This is the classic, of course. But there is not a lot of good translations into Russian from Italian.
By the way, I'm from Russia. The server does not missed a code of Moscow and I had cheated it. Here's a precedent! But all from the love of art! (Smile) Believe me.
Ciao!”
