I, like everyone else in America, love David Sedaris. The story about his tics as a child is the funniest thing I've ever read, and what makes this my favorite of his books.

“It's hard to explain if you've never read his stuff, but I'll try. Most of what he writes are memoirs, and he's just one of those people with a really funny way of telling a story... being memoirs they tend to center around his family, boyfriend, and of course himself, but he doesn't pull any punches. He's also very sweet so it's never that snotty or "I can't relate to that" funny, even when you can't relate to it. I'm not really sure how to do it justice, so I'd really recommend reading one, since they're all short story compilations you can easily pick it up, read a selection and put it down if you're not digging it. He also used to do a lot of stories on This American Life (NPR) that you might be able to find online. Sorry I'm not much help. I'm terrible at reviews!”

“Ok, as a Canadian here, can you please explain to me the current fascination over this author? I have seen his books on many profile selections on this site, and therefore I'm hoping you might be able to share your insight and relieve this curiosity of mine? Thanks, enjoy your books!”
