55-year-old woman in Pawtucket, RI, United States
Seeking a man, 45 to 58
I would describe myself as...

A complex woman with simple needs who seeks a partner with whom to share a simple life. I am liberal politically and a live and let live kinda gal socially. I don't yell or whine, but beware my silences, which are not to be confused with my quiet moments. I need honesty, communication, humor and touch, intellectual stimulation and solitude, and I need them daily. All but the last are more fun with a companion ; )

I am sparkseeksfuel on okcupid.

When people meet me, they notice...

My warm smile and firm handshake.

You'll often find me...

Outdoors, doing and being. Everything is better outdoors, except what isn't.

Film is one thing that isn't, and I prefer the Avon, and its fare. Another indoor thing essential for me is making art, but you won't "find" me doing it...its my one truly private activity, and my studio is my sanctuary.

Two things I can't live without...

Besides books? Art, conversation, and touch...but who's counting?

The bravest thing I've done recently...

I made a decision that in 2012 I will live by the "Rule of Opposites" in areas of my life that need tweaking, by which I mean to make a choice opposite to the one that hasn't been working. Different may not turn out to be better, but it will be...different.

I am particularly good at...

Listening, making others feel at ease, cooking, driving, talking, kissing, other oral activities.

Less useful, but fun: making up backstories while people-watching, retaining worthless information (the more worthless, the likelier it is to stick), making babies giggle and dogs smile.

My favorite literary quotes are...

The ones that best illuminate the topic at hand. Some of my favorite quotable people are Georgia O'Keeffe, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Steve Jobs.
