The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
by Junot Díaz
“When I finished this, I threw it across the room because I was so angry I was done with it and I could never read it again for the first time and that I would never find Oscar in a book again. Thanks a lot, Junot Diaz.”

“It's a book of short stories, right? I have a hard time with short stories; I love them, but I want to stay with the people longer... I can't get as invested in such a short time. Don't get me wrong--I love them. But considering I'm already mad at Oscar Wao for ending, this may a disastrous recommendation. (Disastrous in the best sense of the word, of course. Thanks for sharing the tip.)”

“Read "Drown". You may regret that, too!”

“I read this book when it was a short story in The New Yorker and was surprised to see it as a novel. I was a kind of Oscar Wao (weightwise, not with relationships for the most part), so I enjoyed the ride.
Short stories are just a different type of ride ;)”
